About Sink Paper & Packaging:
In 1929, paper salesman Harry L. Sink was told by his St. Louis employer that they could no longer afford to keep him on payroll due to the depression setting in. Having established a customer base around Des Moines, Harry and his wife, Alice, thought if they could secure product lines, they could start their own company. This was the beginning of Sink Paper Company.
Harry’s son, Jack, began working for his father in 1950. Jack would take over the company in 1961 after Harry’s unexpected death. Jack ran the company out of an old brick railroad warehouse in downtown Des Moines. Product lines continued to expand and evolve for Sink Paper.
Year 2000 would mark an important turning point. Sink Paper moved into its new custom facility in Urbandale. The name of the company also expanded to Sink Paper & Packaging, to better represent the many products offered. Barb Sink-Krusenstjerna is now the 3rd generation owner of
Sink Paper & Packaging. Barb looks forward to the future growth and expansion of the company!
